SAP Breast Cancer Awareness Talk
SAP ( System, Application and Product in Data Process) organized a talk for their female staff on 12 October 2011. An intimate group of 20 participants were catered for, which meant individual attention was paid to each participant. SAP staff were taught the importance of early detection and BSE methods.
SAP Customer Appreciation Dinner
PRIDE opened a booth at their Customer Appreciation Dinner on the 4 October 2011. Breast cancer survivor and PRIDE volunteer, Felicia Leong was on hand to provide BSE demonstrations and well as to share her experience in battling the illness.
Curves Women’s Gym Breast Cancer Awareness Talk
Curves Women’s Gym in Damansara had 2 talks on the 15 and 20 Oct 2011 – doctors talk on breast cancer as well as a sharing session. The talk and sharing sessions held were very intimate, which allowed Dr Wan Hilya to answer all questions posed by attendees. PRIDE volunteer and breast cancer survivor, Mezwyn D’Junus shared her experiences battling the illness with the participants and had them thoroughly engaged with her wit, enthusiasm and zest for life.
Omega Leo Club Damanasara Pink Charity Walk
The Omega Leo Club of Damansara organised the Pink Charity Walk on 30 October 2011. Over 300 people took part in the walk, from 5 years old all the way to 50! Thank you to all those who participated and a big thanks and well done to the Omega Leo Club of Damansara!
PINK HAFLA IN AID OF PRIDE
The Middle East Dance Academy and the Coronade Hotel, (now rebranded as the Hotel Royal) in co-operation with PRIDE jointly organized a charity belly dance concert on Saturday 29 Oct 2011. It aimed to raise funds as well as promote a healthy body image. The biggest donation came from the Noah Foundation with the generous sum of RM10,000!
TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR LIFE – THE UNIVERSITY TOUR: RAFFLES COLLEGE
As part of PRIDE’s initiative to educate the youth of Malaysia on the importance of breast health, the first of a series of university tours was kicked off this October. It consisted of a carnival along with a doctors presentation on maintaining good breast health.
International Understanding Night – Methodist Boys School of Kuala Lumpur
Our friends at the Interact Club of the Methodist Boys School of Kuala Lumpur are proud to announce that this year’s International Understanding Night will be based on the breast cancer awareness.
It may appear quaint for a boys’ school to promote the breast cancer awareness as breast cancer may seem to occur pretty much entirely in women, but mind you, men can get it too.
Hence, the Interact Club of Methodist Boys’ School of Kuala Lumpur are carrying out this event for a good cause, to allow students to understand more about breast cancer and to create awareness towards it.
They have tied up with PRIDE and will also be raising funds for the foundation. Do stop by and lend your support!!

KARNIVAL KESEJAHTERAAN DAN KEKELUARGAAN YAYASAN PRIDE
PRIDE Foundation organized the ‘Karnival Kesejahteraan dan Kekeluargaan Yayasan PRIDE’ (KKKP) at SJK(T) Kalumpang, Hulu Bernam, Selangor on 19th June 2011. The event will started 8.00 am. Lots of activities were prepared for the participants including total wellbeing forums for men, women and children. There were also health checks and games for all ages as well as a lucky draw.
“Life After Breast Cancer” event at NCI, Nilai
NCI Hospital (NCIH) Nilai, Negeri Sembilan ‘Life After Breast Cancer”, a breast cancer awareness event on 21st May 2011.
PRIDE Foundation was invited by NCIH to open a booth during the event. The event was held at NCIH auditorium, in the support of the Breast Cancer Support Group of Seremban.
Amongst the activities that were held was fashion show by the survivors and make up demonstration conducted by cyber fashion designer, Hideaki Lim.
Breast Cancer Awareness Talk at Lembaga Tabung Haji, Kuala Lumpur
Lembaga Tabung Haji has invited PRIDE Foundation to conduct a Breast Cancer Awareness talk at Menara Tabung Haji for their employees.
The talk was held on 19 May 2011. Dr Brahma of Beacon International Medical Center lead the talk. Ms Suguna Kanapathy also shared her experience as a breast cancer survivor. At the same time, Lembaga Tabung Haji has also invited one of their employee, Puan Rashidah Haji Ahmad, a fellow breast cancer survivor, to share her experiences as well.
Breast Cancer Awareness Talk at ING, Bandar Sri Damansara
PRIDE Foundation was invited by ING to conduct a breast cancer awareness talk for their agents and policy holders.
The event was held on 14 May 2011 at ING Centre at Bandar Sri Damansara. Dr Harjit Kaur Prince Court Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur gave the talk on breast cancer, and Ms Felicia Leong shared her experience as a breast cancer survivor.
PRIDE Foundation also gave a demonstration on how to do Breast Self Examinations (BSE) to the participants.
Mother’s Day Hi-Tea at Coronade Hotel Kuala Lumpur
In conjunction with Mother’s Day, the Coronade Hotel, KL held an activity filled Mother’s Day Hi-Tea on Sunday, 8 May 2011 in aid of PRIDE
The Hi-Tea was held at the Makan-Makan Coffeehouse and featured lots of mother-daughter teamed activities and competitions. Amongst them were a cupcake decorating competition and a napkin folding contest.
PRIDE Foundation also opened an exhibition booth to inform patrons on correct BSE methods. Pantai Holdings also set up a booth selling merchandise benefiting PRIDE and Life Care set up a booth offering health check up and test for patrons and guests as well.
Breast Cancer Awareness Talk, Persatuan Ibu-Ibu Tunggal Islam Wilayah Persekutuan dan Selangor (PITI)
PRIDE Foundation was invited by Persatuan Ibu-Ibu Tunggal Islam Wilayah Persekutuan dan Selangor (PITI) to conduct a breast cancer awareness talk for their members.
The talk was held on Friday, 15th April 2011 from 10am until 12pm AT Pusat Komuniti Gombak, PPR Gombak Setia, Kuala Lumpur. There were about 25 members from PITI who attended the talk.
We had Dr Naqiyah Ibrahim from Damansara Specialist to give the talk on breast cancer, and Puan Rogayah as the breast cancer survivor to share her experience. The members of PITI also had the chance to learn how to do breast self examination (BSE).
Cancer Awareness Day, SEGi University College, Subang Jaya
SEGi University College, Subang invited PRIDE Foundation to conduct a breast cancer awareness talk last Friday, 8th April 2011. This was in conjunction with their Cancer Awareness Day.
Ms Tulasi Govindasamy was also there to share her experience as a breast cancer survivor.
The students had the opportunity to learn how to perform Breast Self Examinations (BSE) as well as to be aware of the myths and facts about breast cancer.
Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT)
Once again Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) will organize an Orientation Health Week from Tuesday, 5th of April 2011 until Thursday, 7th of April 2011.
The Health Week is held to help educate the students and to create health awareness for LUCT students. PRIDE Foundation will be setting a booth for students to gain knowledge and learn more about breastcancer.
Booth Opening for APT Academy Grand Opening
PRIDE Foundation has been invited by APT Academy to open a booth during their Grand Opening on Saturday, 2nd April 2011.
One of the activities they had was the Charity Haircut where the public could donate and get a haircut. All the proceed went to PRIDE Foundation.
“We Care With PRIDE” Campaign by The Coronade Hotel Kuala Lumpur
On 25th January 2011, The Coronade Hotel Kuala Lumpur launched “We Care With PRIDE” Campaign, a breast cancer education and awareness campaign.
Coronade Hotel collaborates with Pink Ribbon Deeds (PRIDE) Foundation, Malaysia to fight breast cancer. The fund raising campaign runs throughout 2011 and ties in with the Hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
